Chief Executive Officer
A qualified chartered accountant, Billy Last spent just over seven years at Ernst & Young before joining LexisNexis South Africa. His strong leadership and execution skills led to him quickly progressing from Finance Manager in 1988, to being appointed to the board in 1990. In 1991, Billy headed up Sales and Marketing and in 1993; he was appointed the CEO of LexisNexis. Under his astute leadership, our business has evolved from a publisher into a knowledge based, total solutions business. Since Billy’s appointment, LexisNexis South Africa has consistently delivered annual double digit revenue and profit growth. He was also instrumental in securing Kagiso Media as LexisNexis’s black economic empowerment partner from 1997 until 2011. Billy was honoured with the prestigious Reed Elsevier Leadership Award in 2008. LexisNexis’ common vision, under Billy’s dynamic leadership, is to continue with our focused solution expansion strategy across the research, compliance, risk and practice management solution lines and to maintain LexisNexis South Africa’s reputation for being a great place to work.

Thabo is responsible for new-sales and marketing strategy, he also handles the development of customer markets and customer engagement models for LexisNexis South Africa, with the use of multiple sales channels, including direct sales teams, telesales and other. Managing customer relationships, go to market strategies and key accounts are key to his role.

Technology and Operations
Terrance is responsible for leading all technology solutions that offer value proposition to our customers this includes; content and business systems; software development, web and mobile development and IT infrastructure. His role also requires him to manage our editorial data fabrication process and lead our customer service, subscription retention and online training support functions.
Sam is the newly appointed Human Resources Executive Manager at LexisNexis South Africa and Korbitec. Her responsibilities include implementing the strategic direction of the Human Resources function and our people development strategy.
Sam drives the development, implementation and overall management of programmes that facilitate the most appropriate staffing, development, employee engagement and retention of our human capital with the view to support the attainment of LexisNexis and Korbitec strategic objectives.
Sam is a registered Industrial Psychologist (Masters Ind. & Org Psychology) and has over nine years of senior HR management experience. She joined LexisNexis in 2012.
B.Com honours degree (University of Natal); MBA (UCT).

Risk Management and Compliance
Greg is responsible for our Risk Management and Compliance solutions as well as Company Strategy and Innovation. Greg is responsible for the strategic direction of LexisNexis Risk Management and our Compliance solutions. Key to this role is strategy, new business development and tactical execution in order to ensure continued sustainable growth via the introduction of new products and services. Greg also plays a vital role in developing strategic plans for LexisNexis South Africa and driving innovation initiatives within the organisation.
