Tax Update Seminar – 28 February to 1 March 2012
This year saw a considerable number of changes to tax laws, some of which were anticipated, and many that were not. Even for tax professionals there is much that is potentially confusing, and several issues that would greatly benefit from clarification. With this in mind LexisNexis presents a half-day seminar with esteemed tax law experts Rob Stretch and David Clegg that will give you all the information you need in order to easily assimilate these latest developments into your day to day operations.
It is increasingly difficult for even dedicated tax professionals to keep up to date with new amendments. By attending this seminar you stand the best chance to get ahead of the pack. All delegates will earn 4 verifiable CPD hours (SAICA members can claim 6 verifiable CPD hours) or 4 verifiable CPD points (FPI members will be allocated 6 CPD points).Attend this seminar and our Dividends Tax Seminar, presented by Kevin and Lindsay Mitchell on 12 – 15 March 2012, will receive a 20% discount on each event! You will also earn double CPD points/hours for attending both events. Contact the Seminars department for more information or book with your telesales agent.
About the seminar:
This half-day seminar presented by esteemed experts Rob Stretch and David Clegg is an ideal opportunity to be taken through the latest tax amendments in a comprehensive and practical manner. Several important amendments have been introduced in the last year. Some were unexpected, in particular the dramatic moratorium on parts of the Corporate Rules and then the partial reversal on this, the limitation of the deduction of interest on the acquisition of a business in certain circumstances and the other amendments to the Corporate rules. All have added to the confusion. Others such as the new legislation on the treatment of contingent liabilities on the sale of a business, the entire new Research and development section and the introduction of the concept of a perpetual instrument, require further clarification. In addition to the legislative amendments there will be an update on important court decisions published in the past 12 months and a further update on anti–avoidance.
