Christie’s The law of contract 6th Edition

Since the publication of the 5th edition of this work there have been a number of important judgments particularly those dealing with unfairness in contracts. Included in these are the 2007 Constitutional Court judgment in Barkhuizen v Napier; a series of Supreme Court of Appeal cases, and a number of High Court decisions. There have also been important decisions on, among other issues, conditional contracts; formalities; contracts with the state; interpretation of contracts, and rectification of contracts. The intervening period has also seen significant developments on the statutory front in the field of consumer protection, most importantly the National Credit Act and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
