Manual SAPS 91A Form

For those customers who are not looking to purchase a scanner right away, or have candidates based in outer lying regions, Lexis RefCheck still offers a manual process for conducting a criminal check.

As this option is manually conducted by both LexisNexis and your candidate, each step essentially determines the turnaround time. The process is as follows:

Step 1:

Send your candidate to the nearest police station to have his/her fingerprints captured on a 91A form. Thereafter the candidate returns the documents along with his consent and copy of ID to your premises.

Step 2:

Login to your Lexis RefCheck account.

Click new application and capture your candidate’s details, selecting the 91A criminal check as the chosen option. At this point you can upload the candidate’s consent and copy of ID.

Step 3:

The original 91A form as well as the copy of ID and consent must now be couriered to LexisNexis in Durban for processing.

Step 4:

Lexis RefCheck sends fingerprints to Afiswitch for scanning against the SAPS AFIS database.

Once completed we will issue your unique watermark with the result.

SLA begins when the fingerprints reach the LexisNexis office and are captured on our system. Results are issued within 2 – 4 days from receipt.
