The Law Society of South Africa (LSSA) has published its most recent Conveyancing Fees Guidelines.  These apply to instructions received as from 01 May 2023.

This fees guideline applies to instructions received as from 01 May 2023, and conveyancers must note that Conveyancing fees are negotiable as they are merely guidelines and not minimum or maximum fees.  The guideline consists of the following divisions:

  1. Conveyancing: Conventional Deeds (Act 47/1937): Guideline of Fees
  2. Conveyancing: Sectional Titles (Act 95/1986): Guideline of Fees
  3. Interprovincial Apportionment Guidelines: Sectional Titles
  4. Interprovincial Apportionment Guidelines: Conventional Deeds
  5. Apportionment of Fees: Wasted costs
  6. Conveyancing fees and Apportionment of fees: Alienation of Land Act

The Conveyancing Tables will be updated to reflect these new fees as per the Schedule, as will LexisConvey.
