Message from our CEO Videsha Proothveerajh: COVID-19

The Covid-19 pandemic has now permeated every corner of the world. As LexisNexis we are taking all possible precautions to play our part in preventing the spread of the virus. As a responsible corporate citizen our key priority remains ensuring the safety of our employees, customers and the communities we live in.

Ensuring that the rights of our employees, customers and partners are not infringed, is also required of us as a company whose guiding purpose is to advance and uphold the Rule of Law. As such, we have implemented the follow precautions to ensure the safety of our employees and business continuity:

Remote Working

All individuals who can work from home have been encouraged to do so with immediate effect. We have already achieved over 50% of our people working from home and will accelerate this in the coming weeks.

Travel

We have restricted all international and local business travel and have brought home all our people who were in the field out of the country or in other regions. We have put a policy in place that mandates individuals who have personal travel plans, whether local or international, to inform their immediate line manager and our HR department.

Global Medical Monitoring

As a member of the world’s leading global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools, RELX, we are being kept abreast of all relevant official advice and directives and we mould our internal guidelines accordingly.

Events and Meetings

We have minimised all person to person interactions with our customers and have postponed all our events. We have also restricted person to person meetings internally and have recommended virtual meetings for all stakeholders.

Site Facilities

We have put stringent guidelines in place to ensure the safety of employees who are unable to work remotely immediately. These are coupled with RELX COVID-19 global cleaning procedures which are being followed to maintain safety and hygiene in our sites.

All visitors who enter a LexisNexis facility or office at this time must be screened. Visitors are required to complete a form and declaration of recent travel and are also asked to allow us to read their temperature.

Business continuity

Our priority is to ensure that our business provides continuity to you even when our teams are working outside of the office. We are ensuring our IT systems can support this enhanced flexibility. We commit to provide you with relevant updates as and when needed.

Our telephone support will continue as normal; however, we would like to request your understanding and patience in the event of any delayed responses. We are encouraging our customers to use our live chat feature which can be found on our Corporate Website, Lexis Library, Lexis RefCheck, Lexis WinDeed and Lexis Convey product sites and will continue to be monitored.

As LexisNexis South Africa, we have committed to remaining calm but vigilant, with a focus on still being here for our customers, colleagues and the communities we are in. We remain open for business and value your continued partnership with our company. If you have any questions, please get in touch with your primary LexisNexis contact.
