COVID-19 has meant legal practitioners are being required to adapt to a new way of working and a rapidly evolving legal system.

Courts now apply the rules relating to discovery based on three principles:

Relevance, Proportionality and Cooperation between parties.

Courts no longer accept wide discovery including bundles of irrelevant documents such as five years’ worth of correspondence. The courts now require narrow discovery.
