LexisNexis South Africa Awards Rule of Law
Foundation Grant to SAC-IAWJ Mentorship Program

We are excited to share with you a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to fostering talent within the legal community. We are delighted to announce that we have awarded a grant of $18,500 (approximately R340,000) to the SAC-IAWJ (South African Chapter of the International Association of Women Judges) Mentorship Program for final-year law students.

This meaningful contribution, made possible by the LexisNexis African Ancestry Network and LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation, signifies our dedication to shaping the future of the South African legal fraternity. The handover ceremony, hosted by Revona Govender, was held in November and was attended by esteemed guests, including Judge President Thoba Poyo-Dlwati, senior members of the judiciary, and both local and global LexisNexis leadership.

The ceremonial cheque was presented by Ian Andrews and was not only a symbolic gesture of our commitment to eradicating systemic racism and advancing the rule of law in Africa but also a recognition of the outstanding work and commitment demonstrated by the SAC-IAWJ. We believe in the transformative power of mentorship and education initiatives to support legal students, and this grant is a testament to that belief. We were privileged to also be joined by Adonica Black, (Director of Talent Development and Diversity and Inclusion) and Nigel Roberts (VP Global Association) who addressed the audience virtually.
